What we collect

PickyScan does not require accounts and does not collect personal information to browse deals. We run our own analytics, on our own servers, to see which pages and deals are popular. For each visit we record the page path, the referring website's domain, whether you are on mobile or desktop, and an anonymous visitor identifier.

We do not store your IP address, your full browser user-agent string, or the full address of the page you arrived from — only its domain, so a search query in a referring URL never reaches us.

Cookies and visitor identifiers

We set two first-party cookies. ps_vid is a random identifier kept for up to 400 days so repeat visits are counted as one person rather than many. ps_sid is a random identifier that lasts only until you close your browser, and marks a single visit. Neither contains anything about you.

We also store a browser fingerprint hash in your browser's local storage (computed by the open-source FingerprintJS library, entirely on your device). It lets us recognise a returning visitor who has cleared their cookies, so our visitor counts are not inflated. It is a hash of browser characteristics, not an identity.

Clearing your browser's cookies and site data removes all three. We do not run third-party advertising trackers, and we do not share any of this with anyone.

Outbound links

When you click a deal, you are redirected to the merchant's site (e.g. Amazon). Their own privacy policies apply there. Outbound links may contain affiliate identifiers.
